The 90-Day Bible Reading Plan: A Structured Guide for Spiritual Growth

A free, intentional 90-day Bible reading plan that takes you from the person of Jesus, through the Old Testament foundations, into worship and wisdom, and out into the Church's mission.

The 90-Day Bible Reading Plan is a thematic Scripture reading schedule organized into three phases—Foundations (Gospels & Genesis), Worship & Wisdom (Psalms, Proverbs, Prophets), and Church & Mission (Acts, Epistles, Revelation)—with a built-in Sabbath every 7th day. Most readings take 10-15 minutes.

Why a 90-Day Bible Reading Plan?

Most one-year plans fail by February. Not because they're bad—because 365 days is too long to feel urgent. Ninety days is different. It's one quarter. It's short enough to finish and long enough to change you.

Behavioral research shows that 66-90 days is the typical window required for a behavior to become automatic. That's why the Good Soil method runs in 90-day arcs—and why this reading plan does too.

"Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path." — Psalm 119:105

    How the Plan Is Structured

Three 30-day phases. Six reading days per week. Every 7th day is a Sabbath reflection—no new reading, just review what God spoke.

    Phase 1 — Foundations (Days 1-28)

Start with Jesus. Read the Gospels (John, Mark, Matthew, Luke) and the foundational story of God in Genesis, Exodus, Deuteronomy, Joshua, and Samuel.

    Phase 2 — Worship & Wisdom (Days 29-56)

Pray the Psalms. Learn from Proverbs and Ecclesiastes. Hear the call of the Prophets—Isaiah, Jeremiah, Daniel, Hosea, Micah, Habakkuk.

    Phase 3 — Church & Mission (Days 57-90)

Watch the Church take off in Acts. Walk through Paul's letters, Hebrews, James, Peter, and John. Finish in Revelation with eyes on the King.

Pair This Plan with the Good Soil Planner

Each day's reading becomes the input for your prayer, journaling, and habit pages in the 90-day planner.

How to Get the Most from Each Day

Use a simple 4-step rhythm. It works whether you have 10 minutes or 30.

    1. 1.

Pray a one-line invitation: "Lord, speak to me through Your Word today."

    2. 2.

Read the passage slowly. Read it twice if it's short.

    3. 3.

Reflect on one verse that stood out. Write it down. Ask: what is God showing me?

    4. 4.

Respond with one obedience step. Today. Not someday.
